Competitive Team
Upsurge Dance Company offers all our dancers the opportunity to audition to be apart of our competitive program. Dancers opting to embark on this journey are often looking for a more rigorous training schedule with an abundance of performance opportunities throughout the season. Our competitive team is held to a high standard of excellence; learning the values of teamwork, self discipline and initiative, time management, creativity, passion and perseverance.

Competitive Teams
UDC’s competitive team is a compilation of three divisions. Our Rookies, The Company, & UDC Select.
The Rookie Company is for ages 4-6! Our Rookies must take a minimum of 3 classes each week, which includes a choreography rehearsal. Dancers are not required to commit to rehearsal weekends.
The Company is for ages 7-18. It involves novice and intermediate level dancers. No out of state travel is required. Dancers must take a minimum of 4 classes per week, attend bi-weekly rehearsal weekends, and can select the styles they train in based off their casting.
The Select Company is our highest commitment to dance and is hand selected at auditions. Our select team is comprised of no more than 15 dancers each year. It requires out-of-state travel, weekly rehearsals, and a minimum of 6 classes per week. Training in all styles is required and the dancers compete in the highest level.
